My series Utopian Little Neighborhood Exchanges is x and consists of 23 color images. There are 90,000 Little Free Libraries in over 88 countries. It is a non-profit organization co-founded in 2012 where a world was envisioned where neighbors knew each other by name and every one had access to books. The Little Free Library staff helps stewards choose locations, and offers to build sites, blueprints, and advice. The non-profit offers a newsletter, a book club, a program for underserved communities, and maintains the world map of registered Little Free Libraries.
Topanga Canyon has 3 Utopian Little Neighborhood Exchanges. One is located on Topanga Skyline Dr. to the west of Valley Drive, and one block from Burson Rd. This library is dedicated to the living memory of Shannon R. Brim “an amazing educator, teacher, and mother. Little Libraries are often erected to pay tribute to a loved one’s memory. This one also has a night light and a dog leash hook.
My series Utopian Little Neighborhood Exchanges is not just about Little Libraries. It is about the landuse once again. It is about the urban and rural surrounding landuse around these unique and Little Free Libraries. Each space is special and serves a purpose to Los Angeles. Utopian Little Neighborhood Exchanges sees these 2 spaces working together. Let’s enjoy the utopian bubble of little neighborhood exchanges and even ask,” what else could happen in those small wooden boxes.”
